Xavi Hernandez names Lionel Messi as the most talented player and the player he enjoys watching the most to this day.
Former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez has revealed he still enjoys watching the Blaugrana in action, with no player captivating him more than Argentine superstar Lionel Messi, Uffabet Sport reports on Saturday.
‘Who is the player I like to watch the most? Still Leo Messi. I enjoy watching Barcelona win. I enjoy many players in the world, but for me Messi is still number one in terms of talent,’ Xavi said.
Barcelona are not taking part in FIFA’s new Club World Cup, which will take place in the summer of 2025, but the greatest player in the club’s history, Messi, will play in the tournament as an Inter Miami player, in a group with Porto, Palmeiras and Al-Ahly.
During the conversation, Xavi also analyzed the differences between Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona and the Spanish national team that dominated the team during 2008-2012.
‘Maybe the difference is Messi. We don’t have Leo in the national team. We don’t have players as outstanding as him, so we have to rely more on the team and playing together.’
